Based on TRC’s keenness to contribute in terms of social responsibility, it has undertaken several activities and initiatives and has contributed to many national awareness campaigns in cooperation with the concerned institutions in support of the local community. The following are some of the activities organized by the Commission to this end:
In 2016, TRC issued a guide for beneficiaries of Telecommunications, Information Technology and postal services users and registered audio mail for the visually impaired people. Through a working group, it contacted all centers and associations dealing with the affairs of people with visual disabilities and distributed about 1000 copies of the guide in most governorates of the Kingdom.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Health / Directorate of the National Blood Bank, TRC established an educational awareness program, followed by a blood donation campaign, in continuation of the blood donation campaigns carried out by the TRC over previous years, during the program the director of the Blood Bank Directorate, explained the importance of donating blood to the donor and the future, and the conditions of donating blood, contraindications and other matters related to blood donation. He also answered the questions and questions of the employees after the program ended.
TRC organized an awareness workshop at TRC premises for its employees on the Income and Sales Tax Law No. 34 of 2014 in cooperation with the Income and Sales Tax Department.
Participation in the Kingdom celebrations
TRC organized a special celebration on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Kingdom and the centennial of the Great Arab Revolt, in the presence of the H.E The CEO Dr. Ghazi AlJobor, members of the Board of Commissioners and all the staff of the Commission.
During the ceremony, speeches were delivered on the national renaissance process and the role of the immortal ancestors in building and strengthening this process, in addition to the role of the Hashemite Family in building the Jordanian state and maximizing its achievements.
Seminar on the impact of exposure to electromagnetic fields on public health and safety
The Commission organized a specialized seminar on the impact of exposure to electromagnetic fields on public health and safety in cooperation with the International Association of Mobile Operators (GSMA) with wide participation of operators of mobile telecommunications services, civil society organizations, media institutions and concerned local authorities. The seminar was held to shed light on the scientific concept of electromagnetic fields, the standards adopted in the field of mobile wireless technology and regulatory practices, as well as raising public awareness of the subject of limiting the effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields.
The symposium discussed several important topics, notably: electromagnetic waves in terms of source and scientific research in the study of the effects of exposure, the values of radio signals allowed for human exposure, in addition to the allocation of a session to raise public awareness of the commission role and TRC followed practices in reducing the impact of electromagnetic exposure fields on public health and safety since TRC is responsible for licensing and monitoring the use of radio frequency spectrum.
